Refractory materials are widely used in industrial furnaces. As the key protective layer of heat treatment equipment, different types of refractory materials are used in different parts to ensure the stable operation of equipment in high temperature environments. Scientific selection of refractory materials is very important, which can not only improve production efficiency but also extend the service life of equipment.
Refractory materials are mainly divided into high-alumina bricks, clay bricks, silica bricks and insulation bricks, which are used in different parts of industrial furnaces. In high-temperature environments, due to thermal expansion, mechanical stress and chemical erosion, the requirements for refractory materials are high. High temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance and chemical corrosion resistance are important considerations for selecting refractory materials.
1. Top refractory material
The top of the kiln is directly exposed to hot smoke and hot air, so silica bricks or low creep high alumina bricks with good thermal shock resistance and creep resistance are required. Clay insulation bricks are used for the thermal insulation layer.
2. Refractory materials for large walls
The refractory materials of the large wall vary with the temperature. The upper part needs high temperature resistant materials, such as low creep high alumina bricks or silica bricks; the middle and lower parts use high alumina bricks and clay bricks. The insulation layer uses different grades of insulation bricks, refractory ceramic fibers and fillers according to the location.
3. Refractory materials for partition walls
The partition wall separates the combustion chamber and the heat storage chamber, and the temperature difference is significant, so low-creep high-alumina bricks or silica bricks are used in the upper part, and high-alumina bricks and clay bricks are used in the middle and lower parts.
4. Refractory materials for the large wall of the combustion chamber
The high-temperature part of the combustion chamber wall is made of silica bricks, lightweight high-alumina bricks, lightweight clay bricks and refractory spray coatings; the low-temperature part is made of clay bricks, lightweight clay bricks and refractory spray coatings.
5. Refractory materials in the regenerator
Silica bricks are usually used in the upper part of the regenerator, while low creep high alumina bricks and clay bricks are mostly used in the middle and lower parts. In ball hot blast furnaces, refractory balls can replace checker bricks.
Reasonable selection and use of refractory materials are the key to ensuring efficient and safe operation of industrial furnaces. Using appropriate refractory materials in different parts will effectively cope with multiple challenges such as high temperature, mechanical stress and chemical erosion, and ultimately improve the service life and production efficiency of equipment.
Through scientific refractory material selection and professional technology application, enterprises will gain significant competitive advantages in high-temperature industrial production and ensure the continuous and stable operation of production operations.
